Shape your Love - Cutout Pattern Series

I wanted to create a quick art wall decor and decided to reuse an old pattern that was found on my 15 year old silk screen. Because of the silk screen age, the produced pattern was not smooth but that was what I intended it to be – not too sharp or clean. Once the paint dried, I decided to cut in into heart shapes and framed it onto a recycle frame.I am also in the midst of preparing an artwork which will be part of the Sequin Tree Series. This will be different from the current one in the collection. I will be posting it soon because I am currently away from my studio looking for fresh ideas. Hope that you will constantly visit my blog to find more interesting creations from time to time.

Shirt For Dinner

Last week, I was invited to a dinner party which was held by one of my friends at his place. It was one of those themed dinner parties and it was "Elements of Nature" this time. I would normally buy something to wear for the occasion but because I had already promised myself to reduce my spending, it was recycle and reuse with an added touch of creativity for my attire.

With that in mind, I started going through my old clothes and whatever unused fabric I had. To my amazement, I found an unused piece of weaved fabric which can be used to add a tad of traditional Malay influence onto a normal long sleeved shirt.

As it was "Elements of Nature" the weaved fabric was cut to resemble nature in the form of leaves and a butterfly. I now had a new shirt altogether, but the best part is it was my creation. I was even surprise when my friends started asking where I bought the shirt as they were also interested to get one themselves!

With compliments from friends, I might end up having my on apparel collection...

My intention of creating this blog is to share some of my art and craft projects। The idea sparked when I was cleaning my store...I was so surprise to find so many art and craft materials which were kept in the store all this while। Some as long as 15 years, bought while I was still studying.

As an Art & Design graduate, and also an avid art lover, I felt bad throwing all the materials away। Therefore, I decided to put my skills and passion to good use and created "The Sequin Tree", my first artwork in a very long time – made from a recycled frame, unused sequins, acrylic and canvas.

This would be the first of many more artworks to come...stay tuned.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I will be adding my creative work to be shared with you soon as I am currently in the midst of preparing my creative artwork. Most probably by mid July, I will be able to post some photos and stories of my artwork. I really hope that my blog is beneficial to all of you especially to those who love art and craft.
